Yassmine Benchrifa is a Moroccan dancer and emerging choreographer, engaged in both hip-hop and contemporary dance practices. She discovered hip-hop at the age of 12, captivated by the raw energy and expressiveness of this urban culture. But it was in 2017, under the guidance of choreographer Taoufiq Izeddiou, that she truly entered the world of contemporary dance, finding in it the missing piece of her artistic expression. In 2018, Yassmine joined NAFASS, the first contemporary dance school in Morocco. In 2019, she had the opportunity to experiment with choreography for the first time through her project Her Life, an experimental creation. In 2024, she won first prize at TAKLIF, the contemporary dance competition in Marrakech. In 2025, she created her first professional solo, INCENDIA. She develops a sensitive and instinctive approach to movement, shaped by her diverse experiences: that of a constantly evolving performer, a student in search of meaning, and a young woman deeply rooted in everyday reality. For her, life is a continuous flow where everything is in transition and profoundly interconnected. Her choreographic work is part of an ongoing exploration of multiple identities, the transitions between the intimate and the collective, and the links between body, memory, and territory. Through her creations, she seeks to give form to the unspeakable, to bring hip-hop into dialogue with other movement languages, and to open a resonant space between the individual and the world.
